I work with individuals, couples and trauma survivors. Together we tap into the inner wisdom that leads to personal understanding and a richer, more fulfilling life. My counseling work incorporates mindfulness into the therapy process. These modalities include Hakomi body centered psychotherapy, Somatic Experiencing® and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

The foundation of my practice is mindfulness. Used in therapy it is the study of “being with things as they are”. This exploration leads to paying attention to the body and how it references the mind. We discover our beliefs about our self, others and the world. When these are illuminated in consciousness the potential for change is realized. Insight is awakened, pain is transformed into possibility and a stronger sense of self is discovered.

My work includes addressing many kinds of trauma, from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), to related anxiety and depression, to birth trauma, early surgeries, car accidents, falls and the conditions of early childhood.

Yet therapy is not only for those in distress. It is an avenue to attend to one’s emotional well being, connect with our authentic self, face our shadow side and assist in the flowering of our soul.
